The long-standing feud between Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and the Bishnoi community, rooted in the infamous blackbuck poaching case, has once again flared up, this time with a bold statement from Lawrence Bishnoi’s cousin, Ramesh Bishnoi. In a recent interview with NDTV, Ramesh made it clear that the entire Bishnoi community stands firmly behind the incarcerated gangster, who has previously issued death threats to Salman Khan over the blackbuck incident.
Ramesh Bishnoi alleged that Salman Khan had attempted to offer money to the Bishnoi community, an offer they flatly refused. He claimed, “Salman Khan brought a cheque book in front of the community, saying, ‘Fill in the figures and take it.’ If we were hungry for money, we would have taken it at that time. But we refused.” According to Ramesh, the community’s outrage is not about money but about the desecration of their religious sentiments.
The tension dates back to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, where Salman Khan was accused of killing the endangered animal during the filming of Hum Saath-Saath Hain in Rajasthan. For the Bishnoi community, who consider the blackbuck sacred, this incident ignited years of anger. Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently lodged in Gujarat’s Sabarmati jail and faces numerous charges, declared in 2018 that he would take justice into his own hands and kill Salman Khan over the case. Since then, Salman has reportedly received multiple death threats from Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang.
Ramesh’s comments follow a dramatic escalation earlier this month when NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot dead, with social media rumors suggesting the murder was linked to his closeness with Salman Khan. While the Bishnoi gang’s involvement hasn’t been officially confirmed, the timing of the crime has added fuel to the speculation.
Ramesh went on to say that the Bishnoi community has shown patience, trusting the legal process to handle the blackbuck case. But he warned that if Salman Khan continues to ignore their sentiments, the situation could spiral further. “When Salman Khan killed the blackbuck, every Bishnoi’s blood was boiling. We left it to the court to decide. But if the community is made fun of, it’s natural for society to get angry,” he explained, adding, “Salman Khan should apologize. If he doesn’t, the law will do its job.”
As Salman Khan stays tight-lipped on the matter, all eyes are on the ongoing developments between Bollywood’s ‘Bhai’ and the Bishnoi community. Will an apology be made, or is this conflict about to take another dramatic turn? Only time will tell.
