In an unusual and intense incident, Telugu actor NT Ramaswamy faced an unexpected slap from a female audience member after a screening of Love Reddy in Hyderabad. The actor, who plays the film’s antagonist, visited the theatre with his co-stars to interact with fans and thank them for their support, only to be accosted by the viewer who seemed irate over his villainous role. According to eyewitness accounts, the woman approached Ramaswamy, slapped him, and allegedly held him by the collar while accusing him of causing trouble for the film’s lead couple, seemingly unable to separate the actor from his on-screen character.

A viral video of the incident shows Ramaswamy looking shocked as his co-stars and security personnel intervened to shield him from further confrontation. Anjan Ramachandra and Shravani Krishnaveni, who played the lead couple in Love Reddy, were also present and appeared visibly disturbed as they tried to defuse the situation.

The incident has sparked a range of reactions online, with some netizens condemning the woman’s actions and pointing out the importance of distinguishing between fiction and reality. Others, however, have speculated that this incident might be a PR stunt to generate buzz around the film, though no official statement has been issued by Ramaswamy or the film’s team as of yet.

Written and directed by Smaran Reddy, Love Reddy is a romantic drama set along the Andhra Pradesh-Karnataka border, exploring the trials of a couple facing family opposition and other unforeseen challenges. The film, which released on October 18, seems to have struck a nerve with audiences, albeit in unexpected ways.
