Doritos has released its first ad filmed in space. The company had teamed up with the Polaris Dawn mission which launched on September 10 and ended successfully five days later.
The video shared by Doritos on X features Polaris Dawn astronauts Jared Isaacman, Scott Poteet, Sarah Gillis and Anna Menon munching on the newly designed Doritos chips while floating in microgravity.

According to Doritos, it created a space-approved seasoning which is different from the dusty coating that we Earthlings consume. The special seasoning keeps the flavour from floating away in microgravity. And the chips sent to space were made in minis to allow the astronauts to enjoy them in one bite and reduce snacking debris in the spacecraft.
Doritos is now selling limited edition signature mini canisters with glow-in-the-dark features to commemorate humanity’s voyage to the stars.

This first one shows a view over the Middle East through both of Dragon’s side windows, along w/ some ominous-sounding words from the flight surgeon as @annawmenon & @KiddPoteet snake an endoscope up their noses in the name of science. pic.twitter.com/oW1F4EQ9AR

Polaris Dawn is the first of the Polaris Program being funded by billionaire Isaacman. He flew to space for the second time after his debut during the 2021 Inspiration4 mission. It managed to raise more than $250 million for St. Jude’s.
The second Polaris crew mission will build upon the first one which was historic for multiple reasons. It was the highest Earth orbit mission in history and the farthest humans have travelled since 1972. The astronauts also conducted the world’s first private spacewalk on Day 3 of the five-day mission.
The third Polaris flight will be launched on Starship – the world’s biggest and most powerful rocket built by SpaceX.
