An exchange between an employee and a manager is going viral on social media. The purported messaging reveals that the employee got tragically involved in a road accident causing a delay in getting to work. But the seemingly unforgiving manager was adamant about not letting it slide.
The post shared on X features the text message the employee sent to the manager. It shows a car completely smashed on the front which hints it wasn’t a minor accident. Notably, the post’s authenticity is unverified and it is unclear where this took place or when it happened.
While the picture should have given the employee some respite, it received the response – “Keep me updated on what time you’re expecting to be here.”

The manager followed up with a second text that said only death of a family member could be excused. “It’s understandable why you would be late, but regardless anything that prevents you from being at the workplace other than a death in the family is unexcused at any company,” the purported message read.
The post, which was captioned, ‘What would y’all respond with if your manager says this?’ received thousands of responses.
“Send me $12,000 for a car real quick,” an X user commented. “Managers like this scare me, like is your life that miserable?” wrote another.
“Would show up at their house early the next morning and slash all 4 tires on their car and then ask why they are late when they eventually turn up in a taxi,” wrote another.
