Qualcomm recently generated buzz with the launch of its Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile SoC at the Summit 2024 event in Maui. This highly anticipated chipset is set to power a new wave of flagship smartphones, with OnePlus stepping up to be one of the first brands to utilize it in the upcoming OnePlus 13. Scheduled to debut on October 31 in China, the OnePlus 13 is ready to showcase the advanced features of this new processor.

In addition to OnePlus, several other major smartphone manufacturers like Xiaomi, Realme, and iQOO have announced plans to incorporate the Snapdragon 8 Elite into their upcoming flagship models, including the Xiaomi 15, iQOO 13, and Realme GT 7 Pro. The smartphone will come in three eye-catching color options: Black Obsidian Secret Realm, Blues Moment, and White Dew Morning Dawn (translated from Chinese). It will run on ColorOS 15, ensuring a smooth user experience, and support 50W wireless charging for quick power-ups.

The launch event for the OnePlus 13 is set for October 31 at 4:00 PM local time (1:30 PM IST), and eager fans can already pre-order the device through OnePlus’s official store in China. In their communications via Weibo and community forums, OnePlus confirmed that the device will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, paired with an impressive configuration of up to 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. This makes the OnePlus 13 a standout contender in the competitive smartphone arena.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset itself brings impressive specs to the table, utilizing TSMC’s advanced 3nm process technology. It promises a significant 44 percent boost in power efficiency over its predecessor, making it a potential game-changer for mobile users. The chipset features an Oryon CPU with an innovative eight-core architecture, boasting prime cores clocked at 4.32GHz and performance cores reaching 3.53GHz. Users can anticipate up to 45 percent improvements in CPU performance and 40 percent boosts in GPU performance, thanks to the new Adreno GPU.
